Description

Original 1st printing (Berkeley Free Press) 13&1/8 x 21&3/4" concert/event poster for the Port Chicago Vigil Benefit, a show held at California Hall in San Francisco, CA on 2/19/1967, featuring appearances by Country Joe & the Fish, Steve Miller Band, San Francisco Mime Troupe and Robert Baker.

Art by (and SIGNED in pencil by) Stanley Mouse, image is featured in the Art of Rock book on page 173 (plate 2.137).

Medium flat vellum stock poster is in good (B) condition; there are tack holes in the upper left/right corners, along with a couple of semi-pronunced diagonal/horizontal roll bends/creases along the upper left/right margins, a tiny nip and a bit of creasing in the top center margin, a bit of mild moisture rippling/light creasing along the bottom margin, a trio of light coffee drip stains in the upper left margin, a razor-thin diagonal bend going through "Miller" and a few stray tape marks and light pulls on the reverse side, otherwise fine.

Most of the conditional issues on this example are limited to the outer margins, the image area is REALLY nice-looking- particularly strong colors (they fade easily when exposed to sunlight), nice large Mouse signature... definitely one of the better-looking specimens I have seen.
