Description

Original 21 x 28&1/4" uncut printer's proof sheet featuring a pair of original 1st printing concert posters for Cold Blood appearing with the Youngbloods, Vanilla Fudge and Richie Havens at the Fillmore West and the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service, Santana and It's a Beautiful Day at Winterland, both shows held on 12/31/1968 in San Francisco, CA.

Art by Lee Conklin, images are numbers 153 (left side) and 152 (right side) in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium glossy-coated index stock sheet is in good/decent (B/B-) condition; there is a fairly moderate amount of the usual surface scratching/scuffing that is commonly exhibited on this sheet (an issue with the ink not drying properly before the sheets were stacked), along with a series of tiny "mouse bite" nips out of the top margin, a thin 3" diagonal bend in the lower right corner, a couple of thin diagonal bends in the upper left margin, a series of thin bends/creases scattered around the outer margin area, a few well-camouflaged handling dings/stress creases hiding within the image area, a couple of decent-sized crescent-shaped bends along the bottom margin and a mild degree of toning on the reverse side, otherwise OK.

ULTRA-TRIPPY late-'68 Lee Conklin-designed sheet with a decidedly psychedelic take on several New Year's Eve traditions.
