Description
Original 1st printing 3&7/8 x 7" blank-reverse concert handbill for the Grateful Dead appearing with Quicksilver Messenger Service and Big Brother & the Holding Company (featuring Janis Joplin) at Winterland in San Francisco, CA on 10/31/1967.
Art by Alton Kelley, Stanley Mouse and Rick Griffin, image ("Trip or Freak") is featured in the Art of Rock on page 185 (plate 2.183).
Medium smooth index stock handbill is in near mint (A- to A-/B+) condition; aside from a couple of ULTRA-tiny edge dings along the top margin (really only visible on the reverse side) and a small inking anomaly (a tiny white rectangle in the bottom right corner), it is an EXCEPTIONALLY nice-looking example of the always-in-demand "Trip or Freak" handbill.
