Description

Original 1st printing 22 x 28&1/2" concert poster for a series of Bill Graham-produced shows held at the Fillmore West in San Francisco, CA from 8/13-25/1968.

Shows listed include: the Who appearing with James Cotton and Magic Sam (8/13-15), Creedence Clearwater Revival with It's A Beautiful Day and Albert Collins (8/16-18), the Grateful Dead with Kaleidoscope and Albert Collins (8/20-22) and Quicksilver Messenger Service with Spooky Tooth and Cold Blood (8/23-25).

Art by Rick Griffin and Alton Kelley, image is # 133 in the Bill Graham/Fillmore series.

Medium-thick flat index stock poster is in very good to excellent (B/B+ to B+) condition; there is a hard 2' diagonal bend in the lower right margin/corner, along with a series of handling dings, thin bends, a thin vertical stress crease and a tiny nip tear in the upper margin area, a few stray soft pinch bends/fingerprint smudges scattered around the image area, a soft roll bend in the bottom left corner tip, a thin vertical stress bend in the right margin of the collage in the center of the poster, a couple of tiny edge dings scattered around the outer margin area and a partially toned reverse, otherwise fine.

This example actually presents itself quite nicely, most of the conditional issues are limited to the outer edges/corner tips.

 Absolutely KILLER mid-'68 Griffin/Kelley collaboration!
